The 2017 MAA Spring Conference is the first of three meetings that over the next 18 months will explore the interconnected themes of Inclusivity, Technology, and Accessibility.    Each one-day Conference will focus on one of these topics.

The first of these Conferences will be on April 3, 2017 at the Arizona History Museum in Tucson AZ with an emphasis on Inclusivity.    The following two Conferences will focus on Technology (Fall 2017) and Accessibility (Spring 2018).

The Spring Conference will open with a Plenary Panel of individuals from outside the museum community that will discuss several broad questions related to increasing inclusivity.    This will be followed by nine break-out sessions, with presentations and round table discussions drawn from the experiences of Arizona museums and museum professionals.

The Museum Association of Arizona supports the American Alliance of Museum’s Diversity and Inclusion Policy:

The American Alliance of Museums respects, values and celebrates the unique attributes, characteristics and perspectives that make each person who they are. We believe that our strength lies in our diversity among the broad range of people and museums we represent. We consider diversity and inclusion a driver of institutional excellence and seek out diversity of participation, thought and action. It is our aim, therefore, that our members, partners, key stakeholders reflect and embrace these core values.
