Science Education Coordinator – Informal Learning

Desert Botanical Garden (Phoenix AZ) 

Provides education programming for children (ages 18 mos.-18 yrs.) and families that promotes environmental literacy. Guides the overall operations of all informal science education programs (early childhood, homeschool, children and families, summer camp, and teens) in a manner that ensures excellence at all levels while achieving budgeted revenues and expenses.  Works collaboratively with the Children’s Education Team and other members of the department to achieve the department’s annual and long range goals within the mission of the Garden. Archivist and Institutional Records Manager

Museum of Northern Arizona (Flagstaff AZ)

Responsible for the access to, professional care, daily management, and maintenance of the Museum’s archives including its organization, preservation, and storage, and serves as the Institutional Records Manager. The Archivist refines, implements, and upholds archival policies and procedures with regard to processing, documenting and accessing archival collections. Duties include, but are not limited to, the completion and orderly maintenance of forms, legal documents, computerized records, manual records, and their retrieval systems. Records and retrieval systems are associated with the acquisition, accessioning, deaccessioning, cataloguing, loan, packing, shipping, and insurance of museum owned and borrowed objects. [0804]

University of Arizona Museum of Art (Tucson, AZ)

Leads the museum in creatively engaging diverse audiences, both on and off-campus with the museum’s collections and research through the development of exhibitions, programs, and materials, and in establishing and sustaining strategic partnerships. Has primary responsibility for administration and supervision of all staff and activities on the engagement team (in coordination with the Director), including planning and producing exhibits and programs, general supervision of design and development of exhibitions, and personnel management. In the context of multi-team efforts, ensures effective coordination among members of the engagement team and other UAMA teams. Assist with developing collection policy and supervising the care of artworks for the museum's permanent collection, and art works on loan for temporary exhibitions; assist with the management of acquisitions, the collection database, policies, storage, conservation, inventory, collection records and research files, coordinating artwork loans with artists, galleries, and other museums; and work with national shipping companies and brokers to coordinate delivery of art work. Conservator 

Musical Instrument Museum (Phoenix AZ)

Responsible for preparing the museum’s collection of musical instruments and other objects for exhibition, conducting restoration as necessary, contributing, and assisting with activities related to the collection’s preventive care and installation of objects.  Treatments by the Conservator focus on the stability and appearance of the instruments for exhibition purposes.  Treatments are carried out in a visible laboratory that is an important part of the guest experience.  Procedures designed to improve playability or acoustic quality of select instruments will also be carried out by the Conservator or external consultants as appropriate. Responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing a large and comprehensive volunteer program or programs (200+ volunteers) including recruiting, selecting, training, and directly and indirectly supervising volunteers; overseeing and participating in the development of volunteer job descriptions and programs; developing policies and procedures.   Additionally, assist with community outreach, special events, marketing/social media, membership recruitment and related activities that support and have synergy with the volunteer program to heighten customer experiences and inspire more visitors, exposure and new revenues for the museum. Director of Cultural Affairs

City of Las Vegas (Las Vegas NV)

The Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) operates, manages and programs three facilities (the West Las Vegas Arts Center, Historic Fifth Street School, and the Charleston Heights Arts Center). The OCA also manages and programs two amphitheaters, two mobile stages, and six gallery spaces, while working with an Arts Commission on public art projects and with the community on ongoing museum development. The OCA is comprised of four functional work groups (Production Services Unit addressing the technical needs of theatre offerings, outdoor events/amphitheaters, and Mayor/Council events; Visual Unit coordinating the city’s art galleries, art collection, and public art programs; Administrative Staff; and Arts Connection handling all activities associated with the OCA’s mobile stages). OCA resources include 32 employees and a $4.8 million budget. Annual Salary Range: up to $164,818
